Thanks for visiting my Newsblog. I occasionally update this section and report on certain law related activities and also some extracurricular happenings of note. Hopefully there are a few items that might be of interest to clients, friends of the firm and colleagues.
I hope this note finds you well and in good spirits as 2011 races by! I have been extremely busy as President of the Morris County Bar Association for 2011.
In the first half of the year, the MCBA has presented some 14 MCLE accredited seminars, enabling our members to earn their required continuing legal education credits in an easy and efficient way. Local seminars allow our members to learn, socialize and network - all at the same time. On May 12, 2011, we held an amazing retirement dinner for Assignment Judge Bozonelis with 360 attendees, including New Jersey Supreme Court Chief Justice Rabner, Justice LaVecchia, many Assignment Judges from various counties, and Superior Court Judges from throughout the state. We also welcomed our new Assignment Judge, Thomas Weisenbeck, who is widely respected and popular with the bar. He is poised to do a great job leading the Morris County judiciary.
Also in May 2011, we moved the Morris County Bar Association's offices into new "digs" in downtown Morristown. Our new address is: 245 South Street, Morristown, New Jersey 07960. The new place is actually the first floor of a beautiful Victorian home located adjacent to the Peck School. Our members are welcome to sop by and say hello to Nancy, Sheila and Yorelis. We are holding both the Association and Foundation board meetings at the new office. On May 26th, we had a little party to kick-off the new headquarters, featuring Mark Wechsler's famous chili and cheesecake, along with wine and beer. A good time was had by all.
Our next featured events are: the annual Beefsteak Dinner on June 9th (featuring my rock band, "The Impostors"), the Lawyers for Kids 5K Race on July 7th, and the Golf Outing on July 25th.
